Voicemail Center 461.2 supports sending and receiving short text messages (SMS) via a
landline. This SMS feature allows you to send text messages to other SMS-enabled landline
devices (e.g. SMS-enabled telephones) or to mobile phones within the GSM network. You
can also send text messages to e-mail addresses or fax numbers, provided that the network
operator or the SMS messaging centre (SMS centre) supports these services and that they
are enabled.

Step 1: Checking the requirements for the SMS function

These are the requirements for using the SMS function of your Voicemail Center 461.2:
Your network operator must have activated the CLIP and Caller ID (CLIP - incoming and
outgoing) features for your line.
Voicemail Center 461.2 must know the number of your PBX system's exchange line. Your
Voicemail Center 461.2 needs to be configured to allow this (see
the PBX system's exchange line number on page
