nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.

nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
3 Applications
In combination with up to three 2.4 GHz wireless
cameras of the MONACOR "AV-...CCD" series, the
black-and-white monitor AV-3000BSDX with integrat-
ed 2.4 GHz receiver unit serves for setting up a wire-
less video surveillance system. As a maximum, four
cameras can be used:
1 cable-connected camera (see chapter 4.3)
3 wireless cameras, e. g. AV-100CCD or
AV-121CCD for outdoor application
For increasing the transmission range, wireless
cameras with a transmitting power of 25 mW are
also available, e. g.:
AV-3010CCD for indoor application
AV-3031CCD for outdoor application

4 Operation

4.1 Placing the cameras and the monitor
Practical experience has shown that an optimum
reception is achieved when placing the units at a
height of minimum 1.5 m to 2 m above the ground.
Prior to final mounting, a trial run is recommended as
the transmission quality can be substantially changed
by displacing the wireless camera and the monitor by
a few centimetres only.
4.2 Connecting the reception antenna
Screw the supplied antenna (13) onto the SMA jack
(14). For increasing the transmission range, however,
it is also possible to connect to this jack a 2.4 GHz
directional antenna from the MONACOR range, e. g.:
DX-80, DX-120, DX-180, DX-230
For connecting these antennas, an antenna cable of
the DXC-... series should be used to prevent prob-
lems in matching.
4.3 Connecting units to the monitor
Switch off the monitor prior to making or changing any
connections.

1) If a cable-connected camera is used, connect it to
the jack CA4 (15). Observe the wiring of the jack:

2) A video recorder can be connected for audio and
video recording and later replay:
For recording, connect the video and audio OUT-
PUT (17) of the monitor (white for audio, yellow for
video) to the video input and the audio input of the
recorder.
For replay, connect the video output and the
audio output of the recorder to the video and audio
INPUT (18) of the monitor (white for audio, yellow
for video).
3) Instead of a video recorder, a second monitor for
parallel surveillance can also be connected to the
video and audio output: Connect the jacks OUT-
PUT (17) to the video and audio input of the
second monitor.
4) If the wireless camera or the transmitter is equipped
with a control channel, an optical or acoustic signal
device or another additional unit (e. g. video record-
er for automatic start of a recording) connected to
the jack "switch out" (16) can be activated via this
channel. The connection is shown in fig. 3 where
the unit to be connected is symbolized by R1.
If a current exceeding 80 mA is required for trig-
gering, insert a relay or a switching amplifier.
When connecting an inductive load (e. g. relay), a
protective diode (D1 in fig. 3) must be connected in
parallel in reverse direction!
5) Finally connect the plug of the mains cable (19) to
a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
5 Operation
1) Switch on the monitor with the POWER switch (12).
The LED above this switch and the LED above the
button "1" (10) light up. After a short time, the
screen turns bright.
2) After switching on, the camera channel 1 is select-
ed. To switch to another channel, press the corre-
sponding button "1" to "4" (10). As a check, the cor-
responding LED above the button lights up:
"1" = channel 1
"2" = channel 5
"3" = channel 3
"4" = cable-connected camera, connected to the
jack CA4 (15)
3) Open the hinged cover (8) of the control panel
(press the marking
with the brightness control BRIT. (4) and the con-
trast control CONT. (3).
