Information on request.
For weights refer to the contract documentation.
2.6
Installation requirements
• Protect motors and pumps from the weather.
• Ensure that the workplace is adequately ventilated/heated/
cooled and observe noise protection requirements.
• Check that the transport / taking away of the pump set or its
components to / from installation site is possible without dan-
ger of accident.
Openings must be large enough.
• Adequately rated lifting equipment must be available.
2.6.1
Space required for operation and maintenance
• Ensure that sufficient space, at least from 2 sides, is left for
subsequent maintenance requirements. This space should
have, for reason of good accessibility, min. 0.8 m width.
• The set should be easily accessible from all sides.
• The motor cooling fan requires adequate clearance around
the cowl. Ensure that the air inlet and outlet areas are unob-
structed.
2.6.2
Foundations
• Concrete plinths must be adequately supported in order to
ensure installation safe and functional.
• Foundation length: min. 100 mm longer than the supporting
surface.
• Width: The fixing bolts should be at least 100 mm in front of
the edge of the foundation.
• The depth of the foundation should be sufficient to prevent
frost and to be on firm ground.
• Plinths which rest on a structural floor or ceiling should be in-
tegrated into the original construction using bridging rein-
forcement.
• Foundations should contain sufficient mass in order to damp-
en resonant vibrations.
2.6.3
Supply connections
Check that all supplies like power, water and drainage neces-
sary for installation and later operation are available in the form
required.
3. Mounting/installation
Care and attention to detail during installation are essen-
tial for a trouble-free operation. Incorrect procedures dur-
ing installation may create hazards for personnel or
property or lead to premature failure of the pump.
3.1
Preliminary checks
Check that the dimensions of the plinth/foundation are in ac-
cordance with the drawings.
3.2
Installation
This pump arrangement may be installed on a plinth, concrete
foundation, structured steelwork or directly in the pipeline, de-
pending upon pump size and local conditions.
3.2.1
Pumps with disc coupling (B)
• The pump set should be mounted and aligned as per para.
3.2.
Pumps supplied without motor:
Pumps without mounted motor are delivered with an assembly
accessory implement which prevents a movement of the shaft
resulting possibly in smashing the mechanical seal. The as-
sembly accessory implement may not be removed until the
pump shaft is firmly connected with the motor shaft. For this,
please proceed as follows:
• Place the motor-side coupling half on the motor shaft. Align
axially. Observe setting dimensions (see table 2 for toleranc-
es).
• Spot-drill the motor shaft through thread of coupling half
(depth and diameter of drilling corresponding to the set screw
dog point).
• Screw in set screw with dog point and tighten well.
• Mount motor on drive lantern and bring the two coupling disc
halves into line.
• Tighten connecting screws of the disc coupling and drive lan-
tern (tightening moment for connection screws of coupling
halves see table 1). The disc coupling nuts are to be secured
by sticking.
