Wall Mounting
The NELSON can be used as a table model or can be wall mounted. Use screws to
fix the base set to the wall. Fix the screws one above the other with an interme-
diate distance of 9,8 cm into the wall. Place the openings in the underside of the
base unit over the screws and slide it down.
In order to be able to hang the handset in
the baseset (in case of wall mounting), turn
the hook downwards. Now you can hang
the handset on the hook of the baseset.
Electrical Connection
Connect the small plug to the baseset

outlet.
Telephone Network Connection
Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the appropriate jack in the back of
the telephone
and the other end of the telephone line cord into the house tele -

phone jack or in a telephone exchange.
Attaching the Belt Clip
The belt clip is quickly and easy to attach: slide down the clip on the handset.
Insert the belt clip in the guide slots and slide it up.
Battery Charging
Before you can make a telephone call, the battery of the handset needs to be
charged. Full battery charging takes about 15 hours. Place the handset in the con-

Note:
• Faulty batteries are small chemical waste and should be treated as such, never
throw them away with the rest of the household waste.
• Remove the battery from the handset when you leave for a long time and you
isolate the power supply.
• When you have not charged the battery in the handset for a long time, charge
the battery at least over night before use.
Tone and Pulse Dialling
If your telephone company offers a Touch Tone dialling system, set the Tone/
Pulse selector switch
on the baseset in Tone position. If your telephone com-
(5)
pany offers the older mechanic dialling system, set the selector switch in Pulse
position.
If you are unsure which system you are connected to, set the selector switch in
the Tone position. Lift the handset. When you hear a dial tone, dial a telephone
number. If the connection is not made, move the selector switch to the Pulse
position and try again.
Baseset Ringer Volume
Set the ringer switch of the baseset
in HI or LO position. If you do not want to
(6)
be disturbed by the telephone ringing, set the ringer switch in the OFF position.
Handset ON/OFF
Make sure the unit is switched ON. At the bottom of the handset (between the
battery charger contacts), there is a switch
(O). Use a pointed object (biro, etc.) to adjust the switch if necessary.
Delayed Ringing
When the handset is not in its base, the handset will start ringing with a delay
because first the radio contact between base and handset must be established.
