Changing basic settings on the base
Connecting the telephone cable:
Only use the original Tenovis telephone cable. Other connecting cables may have a
different pin assignment. If you need a spare cable, please contact your local dealer.
– Plug the Western plug into the back of the base station (
bottom of the base station)
– Plug the telephone plug into a telephone terminal (e.g. an analog terminal of
Integral1).
Your base station is now fully connected.
Note: If you want to log on your mobile unit to the DEC module of Integral1, you
must not connect the telephone cable.
Getting the mobile unit ready for operation
– Insert the batteries in the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
Make sure the polarity is correct.
– The batteries should be charged non-stop for at least 18 hours before being used
for the first time. To do this, insert the mobile unit in the base station.
– As soon as the mobile unit is in charging contact with the base, you will hear two
confirmation signals.
– The batteries get hot during charging. This is normal.
– As a rule new batteries do not reach their full capacity until after a few days in
normal operation.
– Later you can allow the batteries to discharge completely before recharging them.
This can prolong their life. Only recharge the batteries overnight for example and
do not put the mobile unit on the base station during the day.
– If the unit is not in use for a long period, e. g. during a vacation, switch it to sleep
mode. Very little power is used in this mode.
Switching on the mobile unit
Press the "Hash" key until you hear an acknowledge tone.
Your mobile unit is now switched on and ready to operate.
