• Kabelbrüche entstehen hauptsächlich durch zu starken Zug am Kabel. Achten sie darauf,
unter Wasser mit dem Kabel nicht hängen zu bleiben.
• Achten sie beim Auf- und Abdrehen der kappen darauf, dass Sie das Synchronkabel am
Stecker festhalten und nicht am Kabel, sonst kann es zu Verdrehungen des Kabels am Stek-
kereintritt kommen, was zu einem Kabelbruch führen kann.
The spiral cables are all water resistant and do not need any special care. Especially after air
journeys check all your cables to whether they are cracked or they have cuttings. This is necessary
in order to avoid soaking water into the cables and therewith into the camera and into the
flash-gun.

If you do not connect the appropriate plugs into the camera body or into the flash-gun body it is
possible that water may reach the contacts. Pay attention that the counter-nut of the plug is always
turned back when inserting the plug. After tightening the plug you can tighten the counternut. The
counternut has to be placed to the bottom of the camera; thereby pay attention that the bar is not
affecting the scart. On the one hand it is possible to damage the camera and on the other hand it is
possible that water is soaking into cables when diving in deep water. Therefore connections can
corrode so that the accumulator of the flash gun cannot be recharged or cannot be released. Slight
quantities of salt water clinging at contacts can cause false releases. If your flash gun is lighting
when switching him on, you have always to seek the cause at the plug. Before diving check the fit-
ting of plug and the seal-ring.
• Lay down camera and flash-gun, so that both of it do not squeeze cable connections.
• Cable-cracks mainly arise from pulling too powerfully.
• Pay attention that your cables do not get caughtup on anything during the dive.
• When unscrewing or screwing the caps please pay attention that you hold the synchronous ca-
ble at the plug; do not hold the cable, because you might cause cable cracks.

KABEL – STECKVERBINDUNGEN – CABLE-CONNECTORS
Im ungesteckten Zustand ist die Buchse mit einem Blindstopfen zu verschließen. Die O - Ringe am
Stecker und das Gewinde sollten stets leicht eingefettet werden. Beim Einstecken ist auf die richti-
ge Lage der Einkerbungen zu achten.
Die Kontakte sollten nach Berührung mit Salzwasser sofort gereinigt werden, besonders wichtig ist
dies für einen störungsfreien TTL Betrieb.
Bei Beschädigung des Kabels bzw. des Steckers ist das Blitzgehäuse vor Eindringen von Wasser
durch die vergossenen Buchsen geschützt. Beachten Sie bitte bei NIKONOS - Kameras, dass die
Buchse nicht wie am Blitzgerät wasserdicht ist, sondern dass in die Steckverbindung eingedrunge-
nes Wasser sofort in die Kamera gelangen kann.
Close liner with blind-plug when removing sensor for instance. Grease lightly seal-ring of plug
and thread. Clean contacts after being in contact with salt-water.
This is important for an undisturbed TTL-operation. The flash-gun body is protected against
soaking water by damaged cables or plugs (the liners are casted). Pay attention that the liner of
Nikonos-Camera are not water resistant, in contrast to the liners of the flash gun. Therefore if
water soaks into the stick connection the camera will probably also get wet.
