Temperature
limit cut-out
Thermal safety class 2
Protection of the heating oven, its environment and the load
against inadmissible excess temperature.
Only admissible for non-dangerous toads.
Function:
The temperature limit cut-out is operationally and
electrically independent of the temperature control system,
and disconnects the heater positively and from all poles.
Adjustable temperature limit cut-out
When the control knob is set to the limit stop, the
temperature limit cut-out functions as oven protection. If
the temperature limit cut-out is set to a value somewhat
higher than that selected on the controller, it functions as
load protection.
Should the temperature limit cut-out trip the heating system
(red warning lamp lights up):
1. Disconnect the oven from the line.
2. Investigate and eliminate the cause of the failure.
3. Press button to release temperature limit cut-out.
4. Turn the oven on again.
Setting:
To ascertain the temperature at which the temperature limit
cut-out operates, and thus to be able to adjust it properly,
the oven must be put into operation. Set the control knob
to the limit stop. After the selected working temperature
has been reached, reset the temperature limit cut-out to the
trigger position. If the cut-out comes into operation, the red
warning lamp lights up, and the heating current is positively
disconnected from all poles.
The optimum temperature limit cut-out adjustment is found
if you turn back the control knob by at least two graduation
marks. Then release the cut-out and finally set it approxi-
mately one graduation mark above the cut-off point. To
release the lock, press the button thus unblocking the
temperature limit cut-out. The red warning lamp goes out.
Operational test:
The temperature limit cut-out should, at reasonable
intervals, be tested for proper operation. It is
recommended that this test be carried out routinely by the
authorized operating personnel, e.g. prior to the start of a
longer work process.
