1. Introduction

Welcome and thank you very much for choosing the
URYXXON ® 500 urine
MACHEREY-NAGEL.
The URYXXON 500 is a fast and compact high perform-
®
ance reflexion photometer for urine analysis, designed to read
URYXXON ® Stick 10 urine test strips. Equipped with a touch
screen and intuitive user guidance, the URYXXON
sures a quick, efficient and convenient work flow. Therefore, the
URYXXON ® 500 is the ideal instrument for modern urine analy-
sis.

1.1. Technical description

As a light source, the instrument uses 4 LEDs of different wave-
length to illuminate the test pads' surfaces. The reflected light is
detected by a photodiode. According to the instrument's calibra-
tion, the reflected light is transformed into the analyte's concen-
tration on the respective test pad.
