1. INTENDED USE

The solar charge controller is made for the charging and maintenance charging
of 12V/24V lead batteries. The designated power source for charging should
be a 12-V/24V solar cell. The solar charge controller is designed for indoor
use as a stationary charger only. Any other use is not allowed and will void the
warranty and liability. The loss of warranty also applies if alterations or chan-
ges are made to the device. Read the instructions carefully and all instructions
on the charger, the battery and the solar panel and follow the installation and
operating instructions of these components.
Read and follow the charging instructions of the battery
manufacturer! These are printed on labels and accompa-
nying documents.
If this product is used in any way different from the intended use, it might cause
injuries and/or damage to other devices. This will also void the guarantee.
The product may not be modified or tampered with!
It is essential to note and comply with the safety instructions,
particularly the warnings.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

– Solar charge controller and accessories are not toys and should be kept
away from children! – When used in industrial facilities, the accident preven-
tion regulations of the professional Trade Association for Electrical Installations
and Equipment must be followed.
– The assembly of the solar charge controller to consumers and to the battery
may only be performed by trained personnel in accordance with the appli-
cable regulations. All persons involved in the operation, maintenance and
repair of the system must be qualified in dealing with photovoltaic systems
and batteries. Follow the installation and maintenance manuals of all compo-
nents used in the system. The solar charge controller may not be connected
to any other energy sources other than solar panels. Follow all the safety and
accident prevention regulations.

SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER
– Do not use the solar battery charger in a dusty environment, in the vicinity of
solvents or near flammable gases and vapors.
– Do not place the batteries near open flames or sparks.
– Make sure that the room or compartment of the batteries is well-ventilated.
– It is recommended to check the functions regularly.
– Follow the charging instructions of the manufacturer on the batteries.
– If you should come into contact with battery acid, immediately use clear run-
ning water to rinse and dilute the acid. Contact a doctor if necessary.
– Do not use the solar battery charger, if it is not showing any function or if
any of the cables appear damaged or loose. Detach and remove the device
immediately from the battery and solar modules.
– The operation under adverse conditions such as surrounding temperatures
over 50°C, inflammable gases, fumes, solvents, humidity above 80% and
dampness is not allowed under all circumstances.
– The device may only be used indoors, in a dry, sealed environment.
– If a safe operation is no longer possible, the device may not be installed
and must be secured against accidental operation. An unsafe operation can
be assumed if the unit is visibly damaged, if damaged during transport or if
stored under unfavorable conditions.
– If the overcharge protection fails, an explosive gas (oxyhydrogen) can occur
in the vicinity of the battery. It is therefore important to make sure that the bat-
tery is installed only in well-aerated rooms. If gel-lead batteries are charged,
the gas protection needs to be deactivated (see preferences).
– Only solar cells may be used as a power source.
– Please follow the sequence of attaching the wires. To detach the device use
the inverted sequence.
– In order to avoid short circuits between controller and battery, a fuse should
be installed to the positive terminal.
– If a connected device cannot be detached from a power source by e.g. a
blown fuse, it is recommended to attach it directly to the battery with the use
of a fuse.
Usually lead acid batteries are used with photovoltaic solar systems. Lead-acid
batteries must be protected from deep discharge and overcharging. This solar
controller fulfils both requirements. The solar battery charger will adapt to a 12V
or 24V system due to its automatic 12/24V recognition.
