Automatic station search
With this function, you can quickly search all new
stations of a satellite. To find all stations of a satel-
lite, the station search must be effected both for
vertical and horizontal polarization.

Press the

key to start the station search.

In this case, the station name is automatically
cleared. The indication "ATS" appears instead of the
"Frequenz" indication at the beginning of the menu
line. (ATS = Automatic Tuning System).

If you do not wish to store the found station, restart
the station search by pressing the
¢
key once
PERI
again.

To store the found station, simply press the
O
key. The receiver then switches automatically to the
next higher programme position and the station
search is restarted. In this way, you can program-
me in a fast way all new stations of a satellite.
Finish the station search with the
key.

After completing the station search, check the set-

tings (e.g., audio, contrast) of the new stations and
correct them if necessary.

Selecting the polarization/aerial/
Mini DiSEqC or 0/22 kHz

In this menu line, it is possible to select the aerial
polarization and the LNB reception range. For this,
the switching signals 14/18 V and 0/22 kHz are
available at the "INPUT SAT" aerial connector, or an
impressed current for a magnetic polarizer at the
10-pin connector on the receiver.
The Signal assignment depends on the selected
aerial system. The table "System adjustment" on
page 12 shows the relations.
As can be seen in the table (Aerial switching

column), it is also possible to switch to a fixed
mounted aerial via a coaxial lead and a relay by
means of the indicated switching voltages (see
page 8, section "Connection of a second aerial").

The signals which are emitted (e.g. 22 kHz, 14/18

Decoder norm selection
In the "Norm" menu line, you can switch the video
signal for the decoder between FBAS, linear base-
band, and PAL baseband (de-emphasis). Certain
decoders require these signal settings for correct
operation.
Video/audio decoding
In the "Signal" menu line, you can select whether
only the video signal or the video and the audio
signal is to be decoded.
Opening the Special Menu

The special menu is provided for changing various
basic settings. In order to prevent an inadvertent
change of these settings, the access to this menu

has been made more difficult.

Selecting the Aerial System
You can adjust the receiver to different aerial
systems (refer to page 12).

Changing the Remote Control Mode

(IR Level)
If you use two GRUNDIG SAT receivers in the same
room, you should switch one receiver to the second
remote control mode. Only then the two receivers
can separately be controlled.
The remote control mode of the STR 600 AP can be
changed as follows:

Open the special menu as described further up.
Use the
keys to select the desired remote

control mode (1 or 2) in the "IR-Ebene" menu line.
Store with
O
.
To give remote control commands in the second
control mode, press and hold down the
¢
key
SAT 2
while pressing the desired function key(s).
Security Function
At the factory the security function is deactivated.
Activating the security function
Open the special menu as described further up.
When the security function is deactivated, "Security
: . . . ." is displayed. The four dots indicate that no
security code is stored.
Enter any four-digit code with the numeric keys.
Be sure to remember the code number or note it
down and keep it in a location which is accessible
only to you.
After the code entry, "Security : 7 2 8 4", for exam-
ple, is displayed.

Press the
key to store the code. This activates
automatically the security function.
"Security : * * * *" is shown in the menu line. The
four asterisks indicate that a four-digit security
code is stored. The security function is activated
and the picture background is red.
The receiver can be switched to stand-by by pres-
sing the
key.

When the security function is activated...
When switching on the receiver from stand-by,
"Security : . . . ." appears on red background on the
picture screen.
Enter your four-digit security code.
You now have access to all programmes until you
switch the receiver to stand-by again.
