Battery Charging

The unit contains a powerful lithium-ion recharge-
able battery. The battery does not have any
memory effect and can therefore be recharged
at any time by placing it in the charger (see the
section describing the battery power level display
on the handpiece).
The battery can also be charged in the charger
independently of the handpiece.
Place the handpiece on the charger for approx.
1.5 hours before the first use, in order to charge the
new battery completely for the first time.

Exposure time options: 5, 10, 15, 20 sec, continuous
mode (120 sec), tack-cure mode.
Due to the high light output of the Elipar S10, the
times of 5, 10, 15, 20 sec are equivalent to 10, 20,
30 and 40 sec using a light polymerization unit of
conventional performance (between approx. 600 and
800 mW/cm for halogen technology or between 300

and 400 mW/cm with LED). Thus, the normal exposure

times for conventional units can be cut in half without
compromising polymerization performance.
Selected filling composites can be cured in as little as
5 seconds if the light guide can be placed in close
proximity to increment. Note: position the light guide
at the minimum distance from the composite and
expose for 5 sec. Filling composites which can be
cured in 5 seconds are shown in the list included
with the unit.
A reduction in the exposure time is permitted only
if the full light intensity of the Elipar S10 is possible
(see section "Measurement of Light Intensity").
