Installation and Electrical Connection
The room thermostat may only be installed by a qualified technician who
is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German electrical
wiring regulations).
Improper work, carried out on the mains voltage, endangers not only
your life but also the life of others!
If there are any doubts during the assembly, connection or the start up
please contact a qualified specialist.
• Due to its design, the thermostat must only be mounted and operated in a flush-mounted sock-
et (60 mm).
• Please use an appropriate mains feed (e. g. 3 x 1.5 mm NYM-J or NYIF-J).
• The thermostat must be protected by a 10/16A fuse on the sub-distribution provided by cus-
tomer. An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this (FI protective switch).
• The device must be voltage-free during installation. It is not sufficient to just switch off at the
switch! Switch off the electric mains supply (switch off at the electric circuit fuse) and secure it
against being switched on again by unauthorised person. Check that there is no voltage on the
mains supply.
• Laterally (on the left and right) on the cover frame there are ventilation slots in which there is a
plastic nib on each side to the left and right. First, carefully press one of them in using a screw-
driver so as to be able to remove the cover frame. Do the same on the other side. Now the
cover frame can be removed easily.
• Then the cover frame on the front can be lifted.
• Make the electrical connection according to the following figures and description.
- Connect the supply to the terminal strip, screw the supply
to the correct terminals (brown wire = L , blue wire = N,
green/yellow wire = PE/protective earth).
The protected earth must be connected! If
your supply does not have a protective
earth, a new supply must be laid!
If no protective earth is available, faults
can give rise to the risk of a lethal electric
shock! Furthermore, you not only endan-
ger yourself, but others too!
