Cleaning and care

General notes

Do not use a steam cleaner to clean
the drawer. Pressurised steam could
cause permanent damage to the
surface and to components, for
which the manufacturer cannot
accept liability.
Never use cleaning agents
containing sand, soda, alkalines,
acids or chlorides; oven sprays,
dishwasher detergents or abrasive
cleaning agents; hard brushes,
scouring pads and cloths or steel
wool. You should also avoid using
sponges etc. which have previously
been used with abrasive cleaning
agents. These would damage the
surface.
E-cloth
A microfibre "E-Cloth" is available from
the Miele UK Spare Parts Department,
which is suitable for cleaning surfaces
such as stainless steel, glass, plastic
and chrome without the use of
chemicals.

Non-slip mat

The non-slip mat can be removed from
the drawer for cleaning.
The mat is best cleaned by hand using
warm water with a little washing-up
liquid. Dry it thoroughly. Do not put the
non-slip mat back into the drawer until it
is completely dry.

The drawer front and interior

The drawer front and interior should be
cleaned using a mild solution of hot wa-
ter with a little washing-up liquid
applied with a damp cloth. Wipe dry
using a soft cloth.
Aluminium fronts (see data plate):
Aluminium drawer fronts are
susceptible to scratches and
abrasions, as well as to damage from
certain chemicals including alkalines
and acids. It is therefore essential to
clean these with care, as described
above. Do not use cleaning agents for
stainless steel or descaling agents on
aluminium surfaces. Soiling should be
wiped off as soon as possible. If the
soiling is left for a long time it can have
a damaging effect on the surface.
Glass fronts
A proprietary glass cleaning agent may
be used.
Stainless steel fronts / stainless steel
housing
We recommend using a non-abrasive
proprietary cleaning and conditioning
agent for stainless steel surfaces.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions
on the label, and apply with an even
pressure following the direction of the
"grain".
