When connecting a load, proceed as follows: disconnect the
DC/DC adapter from the supply battery system before connecting
the load. It is recommended that a switch of appropriate (2 A) swit-
ching capacity is installed between the supply battery and the ad-
apter.
Always connect any possible low-voltage load in a switched-off
condition (arcing!). Pay attention to:
- setting the correct voltage: the setting on the Portable Equip-
ment Vehicle Adapter must match the DC input voltage of the
low-voltage load.
- the correct input polarity (+ and -) on the load (inner pin plus "+"
and outer pin minus "-" or the reverse?)
- and adequate conductor cross-section.
The converter operates only with DC; AC at the
input will lead to the inevitable damage/destruction
of the unit.
Because it becomes very warm, above all at nomi-
nal current, pay attention to adequate ventilation of
the converter during operation. Attention! Danger of
burns!
Never cover the ventilation slots/cooling fins of the
converter, because otherwise a build-up of heat can
occur which can lead to damage to the converter.
b) Changing fuses
Make sure that only fuses of the given types and
nominal current ratings are used as replacements.
The use of patched fuses or bridging of the fuse
socket is not recommended.
