Keep transmitting equipment (radio telephones, radio control trans-
mitters, etc.) away from the Portable Equipment Vehicle Adapter,
because the resultant transmission radiation can cause faults.
Do not connect rechargeable cells to the output of the unit, becau-
se the output is not protected against possible polarity reversal
which can destroy the unit.
Do not connect the input to a voltage less than the minimum 10.5 V
DC! The maximum input voltage may not exceed 28.8 VDC!
If it is to be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the
device must be switched off and protected against unintentional
operation. It is to be assumed that safe operation is no longer pos-
sible:
if the MST09 shows visible signs of damage,
if the MST09 no longer functions,
after prolonged storage under unfavourable conditions or
after severe transportation stress.

Functional description

The Portable Equipment Vehicle Adapter allows the operation of
low-voltage loads such as Walkman, Discman, pocket radios or
portable hi fi equipment from a 12 - 24 V DC battery system. For
this, the input is reduced/converted by means of an IC-controlled
switching circuit switchable to the voltages 1.5, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0, 7.5
and 9.0 DC (12 V output only with 24 V operating voltage).
