should not be installed near safety systems such as airbags, belt
tensioners, ABS, etc. In case of doubt, consult the vehicle dealer
(or manufacturer), to avoid safety systems being affected by the
Portable Equipment Vehicle Adapter.
DC voltage adapters and accessories do not belong in the hands
of children!
In commercial facilities the accident-prevention regulations of the
Industrial Employers' Liability Association for electrical systems
and equipment must be observed.
In schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help workshops, the
operation of DC voltage converters must be supervised respon-
sibly by trained personnel.
Operate the Portable Equipment Vehicle Adapter only when the
case is securely closed and screwed.
Never operate the adapter immediately after it has been brought
from a cold into a warm area. Under adverse conditions, the resul-
tant condensation can destroy the unit. Allow the unit to reach am-
bient temperature while switched off and unconnected.
Ventilation slots must not be covered! The instrument is to be pla-
ced onto a hard, non-inflammable base, so that cooling air can en-
ter unhindered. The cooling of the unit occurs predominantly
through convection.
Avoid operation under unfavourable ambient conditions. These
lead to damage of the sensitive electronics within the unit. Un-
favourable ambient conditions include:
- excessive humidity (greater than 80% relative humidity, non-
condensing) and/or moisture
- dust and combustible gases, fumes or solvents, petrol
