What is the reference time ?
The current time is displayed by means of the hour and minute
hand. Parallel to the current time, the reference time runs in the
background : the alarm time refers itself to this reference time.
Thus, resetting the time also requires the identical correction
of the reference time.
If the reference time is not synchronised with the current time, this
results in the alarm signal being emitted at a different time to the
set alarm time.

Screw-in crown

I (pos. 0)
Some watches – certainly those water-resistant to more than 50 meters
– have a screw-in crown : you find this information printed on the tag
that accompanies the watch. Before being able to make any adjust-
ments (change date, set time etc.) the crown has to be unscrewed.
To do so, please proceed as follows :
I turn the crown counterclockwise until it disengages from the
thread and is no longer in contact with it,
II the crown is now in pos. 1 and can be pulled out to pos. 2 or 3
for the adjustments which are about to be made,
III to screw in the crown, return to pos. 1, push against the thread
and at the same time turn clockwise until tight (pos. 0).
