7 Protective circuits

Protective circuits are provided to prevent
damage to the speakers and the amplifier .
When the limit level is reached at the out-
put, the integrated level limiter will reduce
the input signal . In case of overload of the
amplifier, this will prevent distortions which
may damage the speakers .
An additional protective circuit will sep-
arate the speaker from the output of the
corresponding channel . When this circuit is
activated, the corresponding red PROTECT
LED (1) will light up .
1 . briefly after switching on (switch-on delay)
2 . in case of overload, overheating or failure
The amplifier channel will automatically
resume operation when the amplifier has
cooled down .
Switch off the amplifier and make sure to
eliminate the cause of failure if
1 . a PROTECT LED still lights up after switch-
ing on .
2 . a PROTECT LED lights up during operation
and still lights up when the amplifier has
cooled down .
3 . the circuit breaker (14) of model STA-
1500A has tripped . When the amplifier
has been switched off, press the button to
reset the circuit breaker, if required .
