General operating instructions
Exercise care when cutting into load-bearing walls – see section "Structural safety advice".
Avoid putting excessive pressure on the tool – this will cause it to stop.
The wall chasing machine must only be used for dry cutting work.
Set the cutting depth – see section, "Setting the cutting depth".
Place the tool with the front roller (machine guard) on the surface you are working on.
electrical tool with both handles and apply moderate force appropriate for the material
you are working on.
Always cut by pushing the wall chaser machine against its direction of rotation. Other-
wise, there is a risk that the machine will kick back out of the cut you are making.
Curved cuts are not possible – this will jam the diamond cutting discs in the material
being worked on.
When cutting openings through masonry (e.g. with a chisel hammer), you can largely
the maximum cutting depth possible.
When cutting very hard materials – such as concrete with a high aggregate content – the
diamond cutting disc may overheat and become damaged. A clear sign of overheating is
a ring of sparks around the edge of the cutting disc.
In this situation, stop your cutting work immediately and idle the diamond cutting discs for
a while to let them cool down.
If you are making slow progress through the material and also see circular sparking, this is
a sign the cutting discs have become blunt. You can resharpen the discs by making short
cuts in an abrasive material such as limestone.
