6. Installation
6.1 Preparation
Plan the installation situation. Have all components ready. If you want to supply the automatic control with mains voltage, ensure that a 230 volt
socket is available near the installation site.
The automatic control has a rotatable upper housing section that allows quick and tool-free access. By turning the housing to the open position,
the battery compartment can be accessed and accessories such as batteries can be inserted. A symbol with an open or closed lock indicates whe-
ther the housing is unlocked or locked. When unlocked, the upper half of the housing can be removed.
6.2 Suitable installation location and installation situation
Find a mounting location for the chicken door with a level and stable surface. Please note that when the slider is opened, the device is subjected
to a greater load than just its own weight. The mounting location must be protected from rain.
The electronic unit is always mounted in an upright position with the cord outlet on the bottom.
6.3 Fastening
Screw the chicken door to the coop wall using the mounting screws included in the scope of delivery.
Then ensure that the following requirements are met:
• The guide rails of the slider are properly installed so that the slider securely closes the building opening.
• The distance between the slider and the building wall is no greater than 5 mm along the entire travel path of the slider during the opening pro-
cess. When the slider is closed, the building opening is no longer open at the top. Otherwise, there is a risk of body parts being crushed when
the slider is pulled up.
7. Commissioning
To supply the device with the necessary power, either connect the power supply unit to the device and plug it into a 230 volt mains socket or
insert the batteries into the device. You can also choose both types of power supply in parallel to be prepared for a power failure. Connect the
battery connection wires to the corresponding plug.
Calibrate the door according to the specifications in section 8.5.
Open and close the door several times to ensure smooth operation.
The slider should move smoothly. Use a few drops of oil if necessary.
You can now make the settings as described below.
