Explosion protected emergency light fittings ExLin NE+ / ExLin-L NE+
5.1 Application / Properties
The explosion-proof ExLin LED module is available in several versions. The
type key provides the information necessary to identify each version.

The intended use of this luminaire excludes applications involving high
ATEX - IEC
voltages, including those resulting in ion winds in close proximity or
contact with pneumatically conveyed dust.
The "Technical Data" chapter of these operating instructions details the
light intensity specifications for the various ExLin luminaire types.
Furthermore, the ExLin LED module must not be used in areas subject to
intensive electrostatic charging.
5.2 Application / Properties
The qTEK driver unit is available in various power variants.
The relationship between driver unit power and ExLin luminaire light
intensity is detailed in the table in the "Technical Data" chapter.
To prevent damage caused by overloading, the qTEK driver unit's
power rating must be sufficient for the luminaire's power consump-
tion.
6. Transport / Storage
6.1 Transport
The light fitting ExLin NE+ / ExLin-L NE+ in its original packaging is tested
for air freight accordance to UN 38.3.
6.2 Storage
Observe the storage temperature according to the technical data in these
operating instruction.
Dry environment, in a closed room, with a humidity lower than 50 %.
The storage location haveto be clean, dry, level, well ventilated and free
from rodents. Safe distance from daily activities that can damage the
battery pack for the light fitting ExLin NE+ / ExLin-L NE+.
Avoid temperature fluctuations.
Otherwise there is the possibility of condensation forming inside the
battery pack
It is recommended that equipment in storage be inspected every 2
months to identify any occurrence of corrosion, moisture, or other signs of
damage.
Charge the battery pack for the ExLin NE+ luminaire no later than 6
months after the production date, then every 6 months at the latest.
7. Function
7.1 Display

The battery pack for the ExLin NE+ / ExLin-L NE+ is display composed of 2
light emitting diodes ( ).

The green LED's indicate the battery's charge state and operational.
The red LED signals possible failures.

7.2 Automatic test function
7.2.1 Function test (FT)
The function test is carried out in the 1.5 h mode with the increased
discharge current or increased luminous flux.
A function test (FT) is carried out automamtically on a weekly basis. Here
the emergency light os switched over to battery operation and tested for
ca. 5 mins. The test is indicated by the flalshing green LED.
7.2.2 Partial operating time test (TBT)
The partial operating time test is carried out in 1.5 h mode with the
increased discharge current or increased luminous flux. A TBT occurs every
3 months. Emergency light operation takes place for approx. 35 minutes.
7.2.3. Dependent operating mode
By connecting an external remote switch to terminals X5 - X6, the
emergency light function can be switched on and off separately in the
event of a power failure.
If the external remote switch is closed, the emergency lighting functions
and the cycle tests of the light are inoperative.
A maximum of 20 lights can be connected to a remote switch (wiring
diagram).
8 Installation
For the mounting and operation, the respective national regulations as
well as the general rules of engineering will have to be observed
(IEC/EN 60079-14).
The improper installation and operation of the light fitting
ExLin NE+ / ExLin-L NE+ may result in the explosion protection and
invalidation of the guarantee.
Transport and storage only in original packaging in a closed and dry room!
Observe for any cracks or damage in housing and glass during installation
or reparation! Abrasions, sanding, etc. can weaken the mechanical
functions.
8.1 Montage

The light fitting ExLin NE+ / ExLin-L NE+ can be mounted without opening
their enclosure.

The chosen screw shall match the fastening hole (see dimensional
drawing) and it must not damage the hole (e. g. use of a washer).
When fixing the mounting accessories onto the light fitting,
observe the max. depth of thread of 14 mm (5 Nm)!
If the screws are overtightened, the apparatus can be damaged.

The light fitting ExLin NE+ / ExLin-L NE+ LED may rest evenly only at the
respective fastening points.
Mounting surfaces, e.g. walls, ceilings or parts of frameworks, have to be
flat.

If cable entries are used from the top, mount only in dry rooms or attach
where protected from moisture.
