Function and Mode of Operation
The appliance consists two units: a station and a bat-
tery-operated cleaning robot.
The mobile cleaning robot obtains its energy from a
built-in rechargeable battery. The cleaning robot can
clean for up to 120 minutes with a single battery charge.
The robot independently returns to the station for re-
charging when the battery charge is low enough. It
switches the cleaning unit off during a longer station
search to save energy while searching.
The cleaning robot moves systematically. It scans the
room with a camera-laser sensor and then cleans the
room gradually. It navigates around obstacles.
The flat design of the cleaning robot allows it to also
clean the floor underneath pieces of furniture, such as
beds, sofas, cupboards, and wardrobes.
The cleaning robot has reliable fall sensors to detect
staircases and steps and prevent it from falling.
Station for cleaning robot
The battery for the cleaning robot is charged in the sta-
tion.
Note
If the cleaning robot starts cleaning task from the
station at the beginning, the robot will go back to
the station when lack of power.
Once the the charging process is completed, the
robot autonomously leaves the station and contin-
ues the cleaning task.
The cleaning robot also returns to the cleaning sta-
tion when it has finished cleaning.
