Sharpening Set Up
• Start with the 220# stone.
• Ensure FASTTRACK and non-slip mat are on a stable
flat surface.
• Check the blade back is flat.
• Place the tool flat side down
Optional Mounting
• Use the enclosed mounting screw to fix the base to
your work surface or mounting
Making A Mounting
• (Fig. 7)
• Glue and screw batten to underside
• Clamp in bench vice
Take up The Float
• There's an essential float between carriage and base

Push the carriage away from the tool to take up the
float. • (Fig. 8)

Move the tool forward until

Push the carriage back towards the tool. Note the
carriage rises slightly as it contacts the blade.

The Sharpening Stroke
4. Hold the tool against the tool recess (or center it clip)
5. Slide the carriage side to side whilst keeping holding
the tool firmly in position.
Note: Ensurethe carriage doesn't extend too far past
the edge of the base.
Form & Remove a Full

• Sharpen until a burr is raised across the full width of
the blade back.
• Remove the burr using the de-burr plate - optional
accessory (lnc with Complete Set)
OR
• Use the finest spare diamond stone to work
across the flat on the back

For A Finer Edge
• Repeat the set-up and sharpening

Next Time You Sharpen
• Use the same angle setting for the following
sharpens, or until the process gets "too slow"
• Then set carriage and stone to the next angle setting
ready for the next set of re sharpens.
• After six re-sharpens at Angle 4 you will need to
primary re-grind the blade, returning back to Angle 1
