Fitting
The following must be noted when fitting the INSTABUS ARGUS
Presence:
• The ARGUS Presence sensor should be fitted on a stable, non-moving
surface, since any movement of the ensor itself can lead to its switching
the circuit or sending a data telegram.
• To avoid a situation where the equipment is switched on accidentally by
the consumer, the mounting location should be chosen so that the light is
not directly within the monitoring range of the presence sensor when it is
switched on.
• The device should not be mounted directly above a light (such as a standard
lamp). The heat emitted by the lamp may affect the functioning of the
device. When light falls directly on the sensor, it also becomes impossible
to carry out light measurements. If lights are installed within the monitoring
range of the INSTABUS ARGUS Presence, they must maintain a distance of
up to 3 m when the connected load is high.
Recessed fitting:
The support ring included in the scope of delivery is to be secured by two
screws to a size 60 installation box for recessed fitting or mounted in the
separately available surface-mount housing (article no. 550619) for flush
mounting.

Fitting of several devices:
In the event that several sensors are to be connected in succession to
monitor long corridors or large rooms, care should be taken that the
monitoring ranges of the individual devices intersect. If the infrared
functionality is required, the infrared channels should be separated by a
spacing. If several devices are to be used in one area, the devices should
either be assigned different IR channels (possible channels 1-10) or one
central device should process all 10 channels.
Example of the connection of INSTABUS ARGUS Presence:
The ARGUS Presence insert is connected via bus connector terminals and
snapped onto the support ring.

Light sensor: Infinitely adjustable from approx. 10 up to 1000 lux via
software. The values measured by the sensor are
generally different from the light conditions at the
place normally used by the occupants (e.g. at their
desk or worktop). The extent of this difference is
dependent on where the sensor is fitted, the nature of
the room (how light is reflected, the way the room
and the surfaces are painted) and the type of lighting.
