2.1 BOLT KIT CH5/CH9/PTO
BOLT-DRILL KIT
CH5/CH9/PTO/VP16
• Remove the ready mounted fixing cap from
intracranial screw.  DO NOT DISPOSE OF,
it will be required later!
• Screw in the intracranial screw using the
screwing in tool. When doing so apply a
pressure until the screw grips.
• Screw in the screw vertically, according to the
thickness of the cranial bone.
• Screw the fixing cap back on to the
intracranial screw.
• Puncture the dura

• Draw the catheter through the intracranial
screw.
• Screw on the fixing cap by turning in a
clockwise direction.
• The fixing cap is to be turned until the catheter is
secured and a complete seal is established.
Care must also be taken to ensure that the
catheter lumen remains open (to allow pres-
sure equalisation during differential pressure
measurement).
• For the product version BOLT-DRILL KIT VP
16, the fixing cap must be closed up to the
stop (hex) so that the catheter is fixed and
safely sealed.
2.2 BOLT KIT PTO 2L
• Remove preassembled fixing cap from int-
racranial screw (1).  DO NOT DISPOSE
OF, it will be required later!
• Screw in the intracranial screw using the
screwing in tool. When doing so apply a pres-
sure until the screw grips.
• Screw in the screw vertically, according to the
thickness of the cranial bone.
• Screw the fixing cap back on to the intracra-
nial screw.
• Puncture the dura with the enclosed dura
opener
• Remove the fixing cap from intracranial screw
again.  It is no longer required now!
• Guide the 2-lumen insert (2) through the
screw.  To do this align the optical marking
on the 2-lumen insert with the groove in the
screw (3).
• Secure the 2-lumen insert by slight tightening
(1-2 turns) of the fastening nut (4).

the microdialysis lumen.
• The fixing cap (5) is to be turned until the
catheter is secured and a complete seal is
established. Care must also be taken to en-
sure that the catheter lumen remains open (to
allow pressure equalisation during differential
pressure measurement).
• Remove the guide wire from the microdialysis
lumen (6).
• Insert µDialysis catheter of type MD70 BOLT
into the microdialysis lumen.
• Completely fasten the 2-lumen insert by secu-
re tightening of the fixing nut (4).
• Do not kink the catheter lumen on the BOLT
KIT PTO 2L!
