3. Disassembly Instructions
3.1 Dismantling the drive Mechanism
– Dismantle the drive mechanism following the Service Instruction
(see chap. 1)
3.2 Cassette Compartment
Note:
The cassette compartment can be dismantled and built in exclusively
in the mechanism Eject mode. In this position, the loading slide
Pos. A0300 is fully moved to the back (Fig. 3):
– Press the "EJECT" button or turn the driver of the loading motor (in the
direction of the arrow, see Fig. 3) until the cassette compartment is
in Eject position.
– Disconnect the TVR from the mains.
Disassembly:
– Undo 2 screws Pos. A0400 (Fig. 3).
– Remove the cassette compartment.

3.3 A/C Head
– Measure the height of the A/C head bottom where the spring
(Pos. A1200, Fig. 4) is hooked in, above the mechanism chassis
using a slide gauge and note down the measured value.
– Unscrew the nut (Pos. A1400, Fig. 4).
– Remove the A/C head and the spring (Pos. A1300 / A1200, Fig. 4).
Note on re-assembling:
– Set the height of the A/C head bottom to the measured value using
the nut (Pos. A1400, Fig. 4).
– On replacement of the A/C head, follow the instructions given under
points 4.2...4.6.

3.4 Capstan Motor
– Remove the drive belt (Pos. A3500, Fig. 2).
– Undo 3 screws (Pos. A1100, Fig. 5).
– Take the capstan motor (Pos. A1000, Fig. 5) out of the drive
mechanism. In doing so, the capstan must not touch the drive
mechanism.
Re-assemble the motor in reverse order.
Make sure that the capstan shaft is free of grease.

3.5 Tape Drum Assembly and Headwheel Motor
Note: Do not touch the tape drum with bare hands. Wear the nylon gloves
– Unplug the connector (PAY01) of the head drum assembly to the
signal chassis.
– Undo screw (Pos. A3900) and 2 screws (Pos. A3800, Fig. 6).
– Remove the earth spring (Pos. A3700, Fig. 6).
– Remove the tape drum mounting base together with the tape drum
assembly and the headwheel motor (Pos. AD001, Fig. 6) carefully
from the drive mechanism.
– Undo 2 screws (Pos. B0070, Fig. 7) and take off the headwheel
Pos. B0090 and the rotor.
– Undo 3 screws (Pos. B0060, Fig. 7) and remove the stator.
– Undo 3 screws (Pos. B0030, Fig. 7) and remove the tape drum
mounting base (Pos. B0020).
Note on re-assembling:
– Re-assemble in reverse order.
– When fitting the rotor, the recess in the tape drum assembly must be
visible through hole A of the rotor (Fig. 8).
Checks and adjustments on replacement of these parts:
– Check the tape path (see point 4.6).
– Adjust the headwheel position indicator (see Adjustment, page 2-4).
