The switch on the model must be left at OFF; the green LED will now light up. The
battery is fully charged when the green LED goes out. Disconnect the lead, and
switch the transmitter off.
The flight battery should only be charged from the transmitter. Be sure to
supervise the charging process.
Preparing for flight
Switch the transmitter on (ON position), then switch the model on by moving the
switch to the ON position. Check that the transmitter and the model are both on the
same channel (A - A or B - B).
Transmitter functions
Left stick forward = full throttle, right stick = left - right
The trim button on the transmitter is used to trim the model's direction of flight to
neutral. For example, if the model tends to turn to the left, press the trim button
repeatedly to the right until the model flies straight ahead.
Important:
If you move the left stick forward, both motors run at the same speed. Increasing
motor speed causes the model to climb; reducing motor speed results in a descent.
If you move the right stick to the right, the speed of the right-hand motor is reduced,
and the model turns towards the right.
Test-flying the Fun-Fly
Wait for a day with flat-calm conditions or a very gentle breeze, and look for a grassy
field about half the size of a football pitch. It must be devoid of obstacles in all
directions.
Switch the transmitter on, move the throttle stick to the "Off" position, then
move the switch on the model aircraft to the "On" position.
Apply half-throttle and push the aeroplane forward into the air, directly into any
breeze. It should now climb steadily at an angle of 5 to 10° . Use the trim button to
correct any unwanted turning tendency. Allow the model to climb to a safe height
before attempting the first turn. The aeroplane always responds to control commands
(changes to the flight path) with a certain amount of delay, so keep it at a safe
altitude all the time. If you fly the model straight into wind and apply full-throttle
(throttle stick fully forward), the model will fly a loop. You will find that you can adjust
the flying height by increasing or reducing the throttle setting.
Tip: it is generally best to reduce the throttle setting slightly before initiating a turn;
open the throttle again when you are half-way round.
The motor run is around ten to twelve minutes. It is important to keep track of the
flight time so that you have enough power in reserve for the landing approach.
Landings must always be directly into wind.
If the model flies as shown in:
flight path 1: the tailplane should be bent down slightly;
