Installation and operation
1. Connect the AX130 with an HDMI cable to the HDMI port of your TV labelled ARC or eARC
2. Connect an audio device via SPDIF Toslink and/or an audio device via 3.5 mm jack.
3. Connect the AX130 to a USB socket on the TV or to another device or USB power supply using
the USB cable.
4. Switch on the TV. On most TVs, the internal speakers will now switch off and the sound will be
output to your sound device via the AX130.
5. If this does not yet work, please switch the audio output to HDMI-ARC in the TV menu and
activate HDMI-CEC. The HDMI-CEC function may have different names depending on the
manufacturer, e.g. Simplink for LG, VieraLink for Panasonic, Easylink for Philips, Anynet+ for
Samsung and BraviaSync for Sony.
6. If there is still no sound from your sound device, please set the audio format to stereo or
PCM in the TV menu.
7. You can adjust the volume of the analogue audio outputs with the TV remote control. The vol-
ume of the digital audio output (SPDIF Toslink) can only be changed on the audio device.
Caution: When plugging and unplugging the HDMI cables, make sure that the plug contacts are not
dirty or damaged. Make connections without power and switch on the devices only after they have
been connected.
Audio formats and switch button
Only stereo sound can be played via the analogue audio output. Dolby Digital sound is also possi-
ble on the digital audio output. If Dolby Digital is used, the analogue audio outputs remain muted.
You can use the switch on the AX130 to make the TV change between stereo and Dolby Digital
sound. Switching can be useful if you have 2 audio devices connected at the same time. Please
note that this new switching function is not yet supported by many televisions. If the convenient
switching via the button does not work, you can change the audio format between PCM stereo and
Dolby Digital in the TV menu if desired.
To switch the ARC Audio Extractor on or off manually, press and hold the button for 5 seconds.
