exposure in the actual conditions of use (taking account of
all parts of the operating cycle such as the times when the
tool is switched off and when it is running idle in addition to
the trigger time).
The declared noise emission value(s) have been measured in
accordance with a standard test method and may be used for
comparing one tool with another. The declared noise emission
value(s) may also be used in a preliminary assessment of
exposure.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with
household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check
with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.
ASSEMBLY
WARNING: To reduce risk of injury, disconnect the
batteries from the tool before installing, repositioning or
removing accessories.

POWERING ON THE SAW
Fig. 4 Installing the batteries
WARNING: Ensure the batteries are fully charged
and inserted correctly before use. The battery lock button
should be fully raised when inserted correctly.
WARNING: Ensure the battery compartment is fully
closed during operation. Prevent water from entering the
battery compartment.
DUST SUPPRESSION
Fig. 5 Dust suppression
Note: R260DCT-Li models are fitted with a manual AND
electrical valve eliminating the need to manually turn water
off and on when using the machine. To allow water flow to the
blade, do the following steps:
1. Move the manual valve to the ON position (fig. 5.2)
2. Switch on with the water control ON/OFF button (fig 5.3)
3. Slightly depress the trigger (fig. 5.4) to open the electrical
valve, allowing water to flow to the blade before the motor is
started with full depression of the trigger, it will remain open
until the trigger is released.
Note: The manual valve can also be used to control the amount
of water that is allowed to flow to the blade.
Fig. 6 Manual override of electrical valve
Note: If the electrical valve is damaged and automatic water
flow is not working, a manual override can be performed. Use a
screwdriver to remove the front panel of the electrical valve to
reveal the interal pipe. A screw is stored (Fig.6a) which can be
removed and screwed into the opening (Fig.6b) to pierce the
internal piping. This will allow water to flow through when the
valve is in the ON position. Please contact Evolution Power Tools
to request a repair for your tool.
USE & CUTTING
Fig. 7 Using the LED light
Fig. 8 LED cutting indicator
WARNING: For R260DCT-Li models, there is a LED light
located above the batteries to indicate cutting pressure. The
user must ensure awareness of correct cutting pressure at all
times to avoid damage to the tool and avoid risk of injury.
Solid green light: Cutting pressure is correct.
Solid red light: Too much pressure is being applied,
operator should ease off until the LED light shows green, the
blade speed will reduce if the saw is overworked.
Flashing red light: Increased pressure will stall the
blade. User will be required to remove the blade from the
workpiece and re-engage the trigger for the tool to reset.
Fig. 9 Cutting operation
WARNING: Ensure the workpiece is supported for
stable cutting. Allow the blade to reach maximum speed
before starting the cut. Cut smoothly and in stages (fig 9.1).
Allow the blade to do the work without forcing the blade.
WARNING: Do not attempt to cut curved or zig-zag
lines. Never use the side of the blade as a cutting surface.
Never use to perform inclination cutting.
