The programs
of the 411 fx
When the 41 Ifx is shipped from the factory, programs are pre-loaded
into its II program banks.
Banks I
6 are preset banks, whose contents cannot be modified.
Banks 7
11 are user banks, whose contents you are free to modify.
Each preset bank contains two programs, and each user bank contains
two programs.To switch programs, use the program switch.
The color of the LED will tell you which program is selected:
green
(program
I)or
red (program
When you play the 411fx, use the BANK knob to select the program
bank that you wish to use, and press the program switch to cycle
through the programs within the selected bank.
How
do I use
the unit?
I. If you are using batteries
Connect a cable to the input jack and the power will turn on
automatically. Disconnect the plug from the INPUT jack when not
using the effect unit so that the batteries will last longer.
If you are using an AC adapter (Optional)
The power will be on regardless of whether a cable is connected to
the input jack.
2. Connect the output jack (stereo) to your guitar amp etc.
Note
Before doing so, lower the volume of your amp.
* If you areusingoneamp,useamono-mono cable.If you arelisteningin
stereo, use a stereo-mono
x 2 cable.
3. The program LED will light green. (Program I)
When the power is tumed on, program I (green) will always be selected.
Each time you press the PROGRAM switch, you will cycle through
program 2 (red) and program i (green).

4. Each time you press the effect switch, effect (effect LED lit) and
bypass will alternate.
How do I modify
(edit) the sound?
The 41 Ifx allows you to use one effect from each effect block, for a total
of up to 6 simultaneous effects.Make sure that the effect LED is lit.
Usethe BANK knob and the PROGRAM switch to select a program that
you like.
To modify the sound of the program or to create a new program, consult
the parameter table, rotate the edit knob to the effect block that you wish
to modify, and rotate the value knob to the desired position.
Note
If you now press the PROGRAM switch to select a
different program or turn the power off without storing
(saving) the program that you have modified, the
programmed
sound will reappear regardless
positions
of the knobs.
How do I store (save) a program?
1. Rotate the knobs to modify the program.
2. Press and hold the PROGRAM switch for four seconds, and the
PROGRAM LEDwill continueblinking(rapidly)untilthe settings
have been stored.
* At this time, thePROGRAMLED will initially change to thecolor of the
next program, but you should continue holding it until it begins to blink.
3. Use the BANK knob to select the bank in which you wish to store
the program. (programs you modify can be stored in banks 7
4. Use the EDIT knob to select the program number (color) in which
you wish to store the edited program.
In the DRIVE/CONTOUR/AMBIENCE positions programI (green)
In the TONE/MODULATION/NR-LEVEL
If youdonot select a programnumber(color)asthememorydestination, the
program will be storedin the currently-blinking color.
5. After you have specified the memorydestination, press the
PROGRAM switch once again. The PROGRAM LED will blink three
times (slowly), and the settings will be stored.
If you haveaccidentally attemptedto storethe settingsintoa preset
bank, the program switch operation will be ignored.
At this time, the program will return to the condition in which it was
before the storing process was begun.

retumtothecondition in whichit wasbeforethememoryprocess wasbegun.
Note
Each time you save new settings, the previously-
memorized program will be lost.

What do I do when
the batteries
When the batteries begins to run down, the PROGRAM LED or the
EFFECT
LED will become
darker.
Whenthis happens,replacethe batteriesin the batterycompartment
locatedon the bottompanel.tfthe batteriesrundowncompletely, t he
effect sound will no longer be heard.
Convenient
functions
1. If the outputlevelof the guitaryouare usingis low (singlecoil pickups
etc.),set the input gain switch to the Lowposition.If the output
levelis high(humbucking pickups),set the inputgainswitchto the Hi
position.
2. Whileyouareadjustingthesound,the programLEDwill blinktwiceif
the currentknobpositionmatchesthe knobpositionin memory.
This is called the CQmpare function.
Thisfunctionis convenientwhenyouwishto knowthe knobposition
that is memorized.
How do I initialize the programs?
By using the following procedure you can return the sounds of the user
program bank to their factory settings.
I . Whilepressingthe PROGRAM switch,turn onthe power.
2. When the PROGRAM LED begins to blink, release the PROGRAM
switch.
3. Pressthe switchonceagainto begininitialization.
4. When initialization is complete, the PROGRAM LED will blink three
times.
Note
When the programs are initialized, all the edited
programs in the user banks will be ovenvritten, and it will
not be possible to recoverany of theprevious settings.
