14. Handling

• Never connect the mains plug to a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken from a cold
to a warm environment. The resulting condensation may destroy the device.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condensation has eva-
porated.
• Never pull the mains plug from the mains socket by the cable. Only pull it from the mains socket by the
intended grip areas.
• Disconnect the device from the power supply if not used for an extended period (e.g. during storage), pull
the mains plug from the mains socket. Remove the batteries from the IR remote control as well
• Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket during thunderstorms for reasons of safety.
• Do not listen to excessively loud music over an extended period of time. This may damage your hearing.
Advice on Handling CDs
• Always place the CD in the CD tray of the CD player with the written side facing upwards.
• Ensure that the CD is placed centred in the CD tray. This applies specifically to CDs with a diameter of
80 mm.
• Hold CDs at the edges only. This avoids fingerprints or dirt on the surface.
• Only touch CDs with clean hands.
• If one of your CDs is dirty, wipe it clean from the centre to the edge using a soft, lint-free cloth. Never
clean CDs in a circular motion.
• If the dirt cannot be removed easily, please use a standard CD cleaning agent (do not use a cleaning
agent for records) and observe the manufacturer's instructions. Do not use solvents or abrasive clea-
ners!
• Only label CDs with suitable pens.
• Stickers on CDs may cause imbalance, which will lead to vibration and may render the CD illegible. The
sticker may also come loose and damage the CD player.
• After playing your CDs, keep them in a suitable CD case.
• When storing CDs, do not expose them to direct sunlight, heat or moisture.
