c) Connect USB Data Carrier

• Carefully plug the USB plug into the USB connection (H) on the front of the CD player.
• Switch to the USB connection with the button „CD DISPLAY/USB" (8). The device now starts to read in
the data carrier. The display shows the number of tracks (up to 999). All MP3 files on the data carrier are
summarised.
If no CD is inserted in the CD player, the CD player will automatically switch to the USB connection when
a USB data carrier is connected.
The data carrier must be formatted in file format „FAT32" (no NTFS, etc.). USB sticks up to a
capacity of 32GB and hard discs up to 1TB are recognised.
To format hard discs with the file format „FAT32" (all data will be lost), the corresponding pro-
grammes are required depending on operating system.
If you want to connect a hard disc, only use a hard disc with a separate power supply (mains
unit).
Use of USB cables is limited to a length of less than 3 m. If the cable is longer than 3 m, electro-
magnetic compatibility (EMC) may be influenced and cause interference or failures.

d) Start/Pause/Terminate Playback, Select Track

• First select the right audio input at your amplifier.
• Push the button „6 / 3" at the CD player or the IR remote control to start playback.
• Push the button „6 / 3" again to pause or resume playback.
• To select a specific track, enter the number of the track via the numeric keyboard of the IR remote cont-
rol.
Examples:
Track 3: Briefly push button 3
Track 21: Briefly push button 2, briefly push button 1
Track 145: Briefly push button 1, briefly push button 4, briefly push button 5
You can also proceed differently by entering the last digit (briefly push button „3" for track 53) and then
pushing the button „+10" until the desired track number appears (for track 53, push the button „+10"
5x).
Observe that the numbering when playing MP3 files does not need to match that of other devices,
since sorting is different due to capitalisation.
