Changing the freewheel spring
If the freewheel spring has come loose or is broken, it must be reinserted or replaced. You will notice this if the quick release can also be
moved counterclockwise.
1.
First you have to unscrew the central screw on the drum (under counter pull) to get the drum off (red arrow)
2.
The drum consists of two parts and the freewheel spring is located between them. Remove this.
3.
Insert the new spring in the same way - if you cannot pull the spring as a whole over the inner part of the drum, then pull the
coils of the spring over one after the other.
4.
There is a small hole in one half of the drum into which the protruding part of the spring must be inserted.
5.
Once the spring has been inserted correctly, push both parts of the drum back together. It is now important that the two drum
halves remain constantly pressed together until they are fixed to the lever arm again.
6.
Then secure the drum again with the large screw.
