APPLICATION
Cutting various types of alum inium sash and w ood.
UNPACKING
Carefully unpack the pow er tool and all related item s
(standard accessories).
Check carefully to m ake certain all related item s
(standard accessories) are present.
PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Pow er source
Ensure that the pow er source to be utilized conform s
to the pow er requirem ents specified on the product
nam eplate.
2. Pow er sw itch
Ensure that the pow er sw itch is in the OFF position. If
the plug is connected to a receptacle w hile the trigger
sw itch is in the ON position, the pow er tool w ill start
operating im m ediately, inviting serious accident.
3. Extension cord
When the w ork area is rem oved from the pow er
source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness
and rated capacity. The extension cord should be kept
as short as practicable.
4. When the pow er tool is prepared for shipping, its
main parts are secured by a locking pin
M ove the handle slightly so that the locking pin can
be disengaged.
CAUTION
Set for transport
Lock the locking pin into the gear case (Fig. 3).
Rem ove a 6 m m w ing bolt.Turn the turn plate as the
Fig. 5, and fix it again w ith the 6 m m w ing bolt.
Low er guard cover the teeth of the blade to the front
of the m achine.
Cutting w ork
M ove the handle slightly so that the locking pin can
be disengaged.
Rem ove a 6 m m w ing bolt.Turn the turn plate as Fig.
6, and fix it again w ith the 6 m m w ing bolt.
5. Attach the dust bag to the main unit (Fig. 1)
(1) When the dust bag has becom e full of saw dust, dust
w ill be blow n out of the dust bag w hen the saw blade
rotates.
Check the dust bag periodically and em pty it before it
becom es full.
(2) During bevel and com pound cutting, attach the dust
bag at a right angle to the base surface as show n in
Fig. 4.
CAUTION
Em pty the dust bag frequently to prevent the duct and
the safety cover from becom ing clogged.
Saw dust w ill accum ulate m ore quickly than norm al
during bevel cutting.
6. Installation
Ensure that the m achine is alw ays fixed to bench.
Attach the power tool to a level, horizontal work bench.
Select 8 m m diam eter bolts suitable in length for the
thickness of the w ork bench.
Bolt length should be at least 35 mm plus the thickness
of the w ork bench.
For exam ple, use 8 m m × 60 m m bolts for a 25 m m
thick w ork bench.
ADJUSTING THE POWER TOOL PRIOR TO USE
CAUTION
M ake all necessary adjustm ents before inserting the
plug in the pow er source.
1. Check to see that the low er guard operates smoothly
CAUTION
This com pound m iter saw is equipped w ith a saw
head lock as safety device.
To lower the saw head to cut, the lock must be released
by pressing the lock lever (C) w ith your thum b.
(1) When you push dow n the handle w hile pushing the
lock lever (C), check that the low er guard revolves
sm oothly (Fig. 7).
(2) Next, check that the low er guard returns to the original
position w hen the handle is raised.
PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS
WARNING
To avoid personal injury, never rem ove or place a
w o r kp i ece o n t h e t ab l e w h i l e t h e t o o l i s b ei n g
operated.
Never place your lim bs inside of the line next to
w arning sign w hile the tool is being operated. This
m ay cause hazardous conditions (see Fig. 8).
CAUTION
It is dangerous to rem ove or install the w orkpiece
w hile the saw blade is turning.
W h en saw i n g , cl ean o f f t h e sh av i n g s f r o m t h e
turntable.
If the shavings accum ulate too m uch, the saw blade
from the cutting m aterial w ill be exposed. Never
subject your hand or anything else to go near the
exposed blade.
1. Tightly secure the material by vise assembly to be
cut so that it does not move during cutting
2. Sw itch operation
Pulling the trigger turns the sw itch on. Releasing the
trigger turns the sw itch off.
3. Holder (B), clamp lever adjustment (Fig. 9)
Attach the included holder (B) in the position as shown
in Fig. 9 and adjust the holder (B) until its bottom
su r f ace co n t act s t h e w o r k b en ch su r f ace. A f t er
adjustm ents, securely tighten the 6m m bolt w ith the
included 10mm box wrench. Loosen the M6 × 20 screw
on the clam p lever and attach to a position w here the
clam p lever can be easily operated.
4. Using the Vise Assembly (Standard accessory) (Fig. 10)
(1) The vise assem bly can be m ounted on either the left
fence {Fence (B)} or the right fence {Fence (A)} by
loosening the 6 m m w ing bolt (A).
(2) The screw holder can be raised or low ered according
to the height of the w orkpiece by loosening the 6 m m
w ing bolt (B). After the adjustm ent, firm ly tighten the
6 m m w ing bolt (B) and fix the screw holder.
