Please note that the names and descriptions of the installation procedure, as described here,
may be different in newer versions of the software. In this case, follow the manufacturer's
operating instructions supplied with the software.
• Once you have started the programme you have just installed ("IP Camera Tool"), it will
search for available cameras in the network.
Please note: There must be a DHCP server activated in your network (e.g. the
DHCP server in a router). Your PC must be configured so that it assigns an IP ad-
dress automatically.
Depending on the security settings of your Windows, a Windows Firewall warning
will appear. The access of the software must be authorised, otherwise the product
cannot be used.
When the camera is shown with its respective IP address, double-click on it.
• You will be prompted to enter your username and password. Enter the username: "admin" (in
lower case and without quotations). Do not enter anything into the password field.
• Next, click "OK", then in the next window, click the relevant "Sign in" button, depending on
which internet browser you are using.
• Depending on the security settings in place, if you are using Internet Explorer an error mes-
sage might appear, stating that a required ActiveX element cannot be installed or that the
installation of the ActiveX can be started manually by clicking on the information bar.
This ActiveX element is necessary for the camera image to be shown. Please note that the
ActiveX software for the Internet Explorer offers more settings than the software for other
internet browsers.
Furthermore, it may be necessary to make modifications to the settings for the antivirus or
firewall programmes before the software will function properly.
Unfortunately, due to the variety of programmes, a description of the precise procedure of the
procedure is not possible.
Further information about the software can be found on the CD supplied with the
manufacturer's operating instructions.
Connection via WLAN
To connect via WLAN, several settings are required in the menu of the camera.
Therefore the camera must be connected via a RJ45 network cable to your network
first (see previous chapter for the procedure) and to be set up for WLAN operation.
As an example the encoding must be selected, the WLAN-IP address of the camera
etc.
Only then is a WLAN operation possible!
• Like many other WLAN devices the settings depend on the available WLAN hardware and its
configuration.
Based on the multitude of different devices and their configuration a description of
the precise procedure of the installation of the camera is not possible.
The setting of the camera via WLAN as well as the available WLAN devices requires
special network knowledge.
See, for example, the enclosed manufacturer's documentation in English.
• First, connect the camera via a network cable and start the camera's software (see previous
chapter "Getting Started, Connection via RJ45").
After this, you can enter all the settings in the menu option: "Network" or "System".
Installation
After successful start-up, the camera can be installed at the desired location using the mount-
ing bracket provided.
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cable or pipes are damaged!
The connector at the end of the cable (RJ45, low-voltage connector) and the button
must not get damp or wet, otherwise they will be damaged (corrosion by humidity).
The product must not get damp or wet as there is danger of a fatal electric shock!
The maximum length of the network cable between the camera and router/switch is 100 m.
Only use at least so-called CAT5- or CAT5e cables.
If you use a WLAN connection it is recommended to test the reception first before mounting
the camera.
Proximity to metal parts, cables or electrical/electronic devices have a negative influence on
the camera's range.
Tips & Notes
• If there is a network or system administrator for your network (as will probably be the case in
a larger company), please let this person assume the responsibility for connection and wiring.
Do not connect the camera yourself!
• In darkness the IR LED automatically switches on; the IR light is not visible by the human
eye. Keep in mind that night vision images may only be displayed in black and white and not
in colour.
• For additional information, see the manufacturer's instructions (either as printed handbook or
as a PDF on the enclosed CD).
Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any
reason.
To clean the product, use a dry, clean and soft cloth. Before cleaning, disconnect the product
from the power supply; unplug the power adapter from the mains socket.
Clean the lens very carefully to avoid scratch marks.
Do not use aggressive detergents as these might cause discolouration of the casing.
