2.9.3 Conduct following fires
Qualifications of personnel: Fire Department / Fire Protection Officer
1. The Operations Management and the Fire Protection Officer must be notified of every
fire, no matter how small.
2. If a fire occurs, it is important to secure the scene of fire, ventilate the area, and
remove any extinguishing agents to minimise any subsequent damage.
3. Fire alarm systems, fire extinguishing systems, devices, and equipment must be made
operational again immediately after use. Before restarting, electrical systems and
equipment must be inspected thoroughly.
Description
If you are in a danger zone, exit immediately using
stairwells and designated escape and rescue routes. It
is crucial to maintain orderly and disciplined conduct.
Assist others, especially the disabled. Follow the signs
indicating the nearest exit and escape route. Once
you are out of danger, register at the assembly point.
Disabled individuals and visitors who are unfamiliar
with the building should be given more assistance.
Never use lifts during fires!
Fires can cause lifts to become inoperable. If people
are inside, they will become trapped in the burning
building. Only use the designated escape and rescue
routes.
In the event of a fire, try to put it out using a fire
extinguisher or wall hydrant, but only if it is in the
early stages and you can do so without putting
yourself in harm's way. Be sure to follow the
instructions for using the extinguishers! However, if
your attempt to extinguish the fire fails or if the
flames are too large, move to a safe place
immediately.
If someone's clothing catches fire, do not let them run
away. Instead, wrap them in a blanket, coat, or jacket
and roll them on the floor to put the fire out. If there's
no other option, use a fire extinguisher to put out the
flames. Be careful not to spray the extinguishing
agent in their face!
