PLACE OF INSTALLATION
- In order to ensure maximum protection, smoke detectors should be installed in all fire endangered rooms, especially: hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, corridors, basements,
storage rooms.
- The minimum number of sensors is at least one per each floor located in the hallway near the stairwell and the bedroom.
- When choosing the installation location, make sure that any possible sound alarm is clearly audible from other rooms in the building.
- The most suitable installation location for a smoke alarm is between a bedroom and a room exposed to fire.
- Ideally, the unit should be installed in the middle of the ceiling at a distance of 60 cm from each internal corner.
- Do not install on top of slanting ceilings as this may cause smoke free air to accumulate. If the ceiling is inclined at an angle of more than 30° and has a total height of up to 6 m,
keep a distance of 30-50 cm from the top. If the slope is up to 45°, the smoke alarm can be installed on the slope ceiling.
Recommended protection level:
Minimum protection level
Recommended additional protection level
DO NOT INSTALL THE DEVICE
- Near cookers, heaters, thermal baths, fluorescent light sources (e.g. fluorescent lamps).
- Near windows, fans, air conditioners, radiators.
- At a distance of less than 0,9 m from premises with high humidity.
- In places exposed to dust.
- Close to places where warm air accumulates (in roof bends, corners between ceiling and wall).
- In an inaccessible place.
METHOD OF INSTALLATION
1. Separate the mounting base from the main unit by turning it counterclockwise.
2. Install the device on the ceiling:
- drill 2 holes in the marked points
- slide mounting screws in the wall
- fasten the mounting base to the ceiling
- position the sensor along the longitudinal holes on the mounting base
- place the sensor on the base and then turn it clockwise to fit the base.
3. Test the device by pressing the TEST/HUSH button to make sure the device is working properly and the beep is audible.
OPERATION OF THE DEVICE
1. Functionality
1.1 The device is suitable for self-regulation in relation to the long-term shift of the photoelectric chamber to ensure the long-term stability of the device.
1.2 Normal mode: When the device is correctly turned on, it enters normal mode. The LED in normal mode flashes every 344 seconds. (fig. 4)
1.3 TEST button (fig. 5)
Long pressing of the "Test/Hush" button causes an audible alarm sound and a visible flashing of the LED during the test. When the "Test/Hush" button is released, the alarm
sound and flashing are interrupted and the unit goes into silent mode. Repeat the steps above to deactivate the silent mode.
1.4 HUSH button - silent mode (fig. 6)
a) In normal mode, press and hold the "Test/Hush" button for 3 seconds - the device will go into silent mode.
b) In the alarm mode, press the "Test/Hush" button and the unit will go into silent mode.
c) The whole process of the silent mode takes 9 minutes.
d) In the silent mode, hold down the "Test/Hush" button until you hear an alarm tone, the device will exit the silent mode and return to the normal mode.
1.5 Battery replacement (fig. 7)
At low battery level (2.4v±0.1v), the device sounds single every 43 seconds.
1.6 Incorrect operation or end of power supply/life of the device (fig. 8)
If the device is not working properly or the battery is running low, the sensor will beep continuously every 43 seconds.
TEST BUTTON - serves for testing the device
When testing, make sure that the sound is clearly audible from all bedroom. Never use open flames to test the device. Do not place the device on your ears during the test,
as this may cause hearing damage. It is suggested to test the device periodically at least once a month.
False alarms:
A loud beep indicates that the sensor has detected the presence of smoke or combustion products in the air. Activation of the signalling device may only be a warning alarm,
indicating the presence of smoke from the kitchen during cooking or baking. The warning alarm will automatically switch off when the sensor stops detecting smoke. For this
purpose, the smoke collected around the sensor should be blown away by means of a fan or by ventilating the room.
HOW TO ACT IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE
If the detector discovers a threat (smoke), the detector will activate: a loud acoustic signal and the red LED on the front of the device will flash.
1. Leave the room in accordance with a pre-established evacuation plan.
2. Check if the door is hot. If so, leave the room in another way.
3. Stay as close to the floor as possible.
4. Cover your nose and mouth with a damp cloth. Breathe by taking short, shallow breaths.
5. Do not open doors and windows unless they are on their way out of the house in an emergency.
6. Immediately contact the Fire Department or the Police.
7. If the alarm is false, check that the installation site is correct.
8. Don't go into a burning building.
PROBLEM SOLVING
1. The alarm signal is activated for no reason:
- The sensor is sensitive to steam and dust. These factors can trigger an alarm.
