INTELLIGENT PROBES WITH REMOTE TRIGGERING
1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read and follow these instructions carefully and completely in
order to ensure safe and proper use.
The instructions must be made available to all persons who
use the product.
Keep for future reference.
Handling

Carefully and completely read and adhere to the product documenta-
tion for the associated test/measuring instrument.

Use the product only for its intended purpose in accordance with this
documentation and the documentation for the associated test/measur-
ing instrument.

Use the product in undamaged condition only.

Inspect the product before use. Pay particular attention to damage,
interrupted insulation or kinked cables.

If the product does not function correctly, discontinue use of the prod-
uct and dispose of it properly.

If the product is damaged during use, for example if it's dropped,
discontinue use of the product and dispose of it properly.

If there are any signs of interior damage to the product (e.g. loose parts
in the housing), permanently remove it from operation and secure it
against inadvertent use.

Route cables in an orderly fashion. Loose, disorderly cables result in
unnecessary danger of tripping and falling.

Only perform measurement with the safety cap attached to the test
probe in environments according to measuring category III or IV
(in accordance with DIN EN 61010-031).

Each time the safety cap is reattached, it must audibly snap into place.
Operating Conditions

Do not use the product after long periods of storage under unfavorable
conditions (e.g. humidity, dust or extreme temperature).

Do not use the product after extraordinary stressing due to transport.

Do not expose the product to direct sunlight.

Only use the product within the limits specified in the technical data and
operating conditions (ambient conditions, IP protection code, measur-
ing category etc.).
Measurement Cables and Establishing Contact

Plugging in the measurement cables must not necessitate any undue
force.

Never touch conductive ends (e.g. the test tip).

Fully unroll all measurement cables before starting a test/measurement.
Never perform a test/measurement with the measurement cable rolled
up.

Ensure good contact.

Do not move or remove the test probe until testing/measurement has
been completed.

Unwanted sparking may otherwise occur due to test current.
2 APPLICATIONS
Please read this important information!
2.1 INTENDED USE / USE FOR INTENDED PURPOSE
The I-SK4-PROFITEST PRIME / I-SK12-PROFITEST PRIME, hereinafter re-
ferred to as the product, are probes featuring 4-wire technology for PROF-
ITEST PRIME (M516A) and PROFITEST PRIME AC (M516C) test/measuring
instruments.
The integrated control unit permits remote triggering at difficult to access
places, and at locations which require your full attention.The control unit also
includes keys for starting/stopping measurements, for tripping RCDs and
other devices, and for storing measured values. An LED is used to indicate
the status of the measuring procedure and data storage.
Poorly illuminated measuring points can be lit up by means of the integrated
lamp.
The connector cable is shielded against interference.
Safety of the user, as well as that of the product, is only assured when it's
used for its intended purpose.
2.2 USE FOR OTHER THAN INTENDED PURPOSE
Use of the product for any purposes other than those described in this sup-
plement, or in the product documentation for the associated test/measuring
instrument, is contrary to use for intended purpose. Use for purposes other
than those intended may result in unforeseeable damage!
2.3 LIABILITY AND GUARANTEE
The warranty provided by Gossen Metrawatt GmbH, and its liability, are gov-
erned by the applicable contractual and mandatory statutory provisions.
