Dispose of the packaging!
Do not simply throw away the packag-
ing. Please observe the following
instructions:
Packaging can be put to the old paper
collection.
Polyethylene plastic bags (PE) can be
given to the PE collection points for
recycling. Padding of expanded poly-
styrene (PS) is CFC free and can be
given to the relevant collection points
(recycling depot). Please contact your
recycling depot through your munici-
pal authorities.
Dispose of your old appliance!
When you eventually stop using your
appliance please bring it to the nearest
recycling centre or to your dealer who
will take it back for a small fee.
Dispose of batteries!
Dispose of used batteries in the correct
way and take them to a designated
collection station.
Putting into operation
Batteries permitted
The two batteries supplied must be fit-
ted before use. Use only batteries of
the same kind when replacing (refer to
"Technical data").
Inserting batteries
0 Unlock and remove upper part by turn-
ing slightly clockwise (fig. 2a).
0 Insert the two batteries corresponding
to the polarity marked on the case
(fig. 2b).
0 Replace upper part and lock by turning
slightly counter-clockwise.
If the speed clearly falls or the spiral
whisk is out of balance, the batteries
are flat and must be replaced. Always
replace both batteries.
If the appliance is not used for a long
time, remove batteries from case.
Initial cleaning
The appliance should be cleaned thor-
oughly before using for the first time
(refer to "Cleaning and care").
Cocoa powder sprinkler
Open the cocoa powder sprinkler by
lifting the cover with the two straps
and fill with cocoa powder (fig. 3).
Directions for use
The appliance is suitable for frothing
small quantities of liquid. The capacity
of the appliance is not sufficient for
use with thick foods or larger quanti-
ties.
Frothing milk (fig. 3)
Any milk can be used in principle, but
3
its freshness and degree of pasteuriza-
tion have an influence on the result.
Milk with a low proportion of fat can
normally be frothed better.
0 Fill a suitable vessel no more than half
full with warm milk (around 50-60 °C,
never boiling).
3
A vessel with a high edge, e.g. drinking
glass, is most suitable.
0 Immerse the spiral whisk in the milk
and switch on with the start button
(fig. 1/A). Move the milk frother up and
down slightly.
To avoid splashing, only switch on the
3
motor when the spiral whisk is in the
milk.
0 The spiral whisk should always operate
just below the surface. Therefore move
the milk frother up with the rising
froth.
