EPL Control Box
THE PRODUCT
With the 51750 EPL Control Box,
you can control up to four LGB
EPL devices like switches and
signals. Features include:
- weather-resistant enclosure
- four two-way, momentary-con-
tact switches
- concealed screw terminals
- power indicator lamp
- side "piggyback" terminals
- marking stickers

OPERATION
Each switch (Fig. 1) in the 51750
controls an EPL device, like an
LGB switch drive or signal drive.
Press the top of the switch to
move the device in one direction
(e.g., switch straight, signal up).
Press the bottom of the switch to
move the device in the opposite
direction (e.g., switch left, signal
down).
Installation
Mechanical: The 51750 can be
installed indoors or outdoors. The
base plate has four mounting
holes.
Electrical: The 51750 requires
AC power from an LGB power
supply.
Power can be connected to the
terminals numbered "3" and "4"
on the screw terminal strip (Fig. 2)
on the rear of the 51750. The
green power indicator lamp lights
when power is connected to the
51750.
Use the male and female "piggy-
back" terminals on the sides of
the box (Fig. 3) to connect sever-
al LGB control boxes (e.g.,
51750, 51800).
Attention! Do not mix AC and DC
power when connecting control
boxes.
Applications
The 51750 can be used to control
LGB EPL devices, like switch dri-
ves, signal drives and electric
uncouplers (Fig. 4).
Connect one set of white and
orange terminals on the 51750 to
the matching white and orange
terminals on the EPL device.
Hints:
- Sometimes, EPL devices need
extra power
mechanical and/or electrical
resistance. The 52750 EPL
Booster will provide that extra
power, and we strongly recom-
mend it for reliable drive opera-
tion.
- If you want to operate two EPL
drives simultaneously from the
same switch of the 51750, you
must use the EPL Booster
52750.
- If a drive does not move in the
correct direction, try reversing
the connections to the drive.
- The 51750 can also control
older "three-wire" devices. Con-
nect one set of yellow, white and
green terminals on the 51750 to
the matching yellow, white and
green terminals on the device.
- Use the included marking stick-
ers to indicate the function of
each switch (Fig. 5).
