WARNING!
If the following instructions are not observed, there is a risk of the regulating
valve not closing completely after the end of welding. Colorless and odorless
shielding gas could escape unnoticed.
Do not exceed the maximum inlet pressure of the shielding gas supply. The
maximum inlet pressure is 7 bar (101.49 psi).
Mount the OPT/i external gas regulator in a suitable position (e.g. on the trol-
ley) using the mounting bracket.
Connect the SpeedNet connection of the external gas regulator to a free
SpeedNet connection at the power source or wirefeeder using a SpeedNet
cable.
Connect the power source or wirefeeder to a GAS OUT connection of the ex-
ternal gas regulator using the supplied gas hose.
Connect the gas hose to the corresponding GAS IN connection of the exter-
nal gas regulator
Connect the gas hose to the gas supply
When using two or more external gas regulators at the same time (for ex-
ample, in TWIN applications), connect only one wirefeeder at a time to a gas
cylinder or to a tapping point of the ring line.
Maximum inlet pressure of the gas supply: 7 bar (101.49 psi)
Connect the welding system to the grid
Switch the power switch on the power source to - I -
Set the respective gas set value and the gas factor at the power source under
Process parameters / TIG process parameters / Gas
Gas regulator 1 = TIG shielding gas
Gas regulator 2 = TIG working gas
