Operating
The external gas regulator has a sensor and an electric regulating valve. The
principle
power source continuously evaluates the measuring signal from the sensor and
ensures appropriate control of the regulating valve. Even when using a ring line
subject to frequent pressure fluctuations, the gas flow remains constant in this
way.
Correction fac-
The desired amount of shielding gas is specified in the setup menu of the power
tor for shielding
source. Depending on the selected filler metal, the power source adjusts the gas
gases used
volume measurement to the shielding gas used. If anything other than the pre-
programmed shielding gases is used, correction factors are available for adjusting
the control. This ensures exact compliance with the desired shielding gas quanti-
ty for the selectable material types.

The external gas regulators digitally re-
gulate and meter the gas quantity for
TIG, plasma, and MIG/MAG applicati-
ons.
The use of the external gas regulator
brings the following advantages:
-
sufficient gas shield depending on
the application,
-
constant gas flow,
-
only the gas volume required for
the respective process flows.
In Job Mode, gas volume set values
can be saved individually for each job.
