Short operating instructions
Before using the UFS 922, for the fi rst
time,
read
the
"Safety
Instructions
Important Information" and "Installation
and Connection" sections, and comply
with them.
The short operating instructions do not
superseded the comprehensive operating
instructions. Detailed information on the
UFS 922 can be found in the operating
instructions.
Do not connect the unit to the mains until
all installation work has been properly
carried out.
Conventional
DiSEqC™ system

A detailed connection example with further connection
options (network, external hard disk, Dolby Digital
system, ...) can be found in the operating instructions in
the section "Connection and Setup".
Connect the satellite receiver (HDMI or alternatively TV Scart
socket) and the TV set using an HDMI or Scart cable (see
"Connection example").
To enable you to utilise all the reception and recording
properties of your UFS 922, such as
1. recording one programme and simultaneously viewing
any other programme or zapping through the channels,
and
2. recording two different programmes at the same time,
the two tuner inputs of the Sat receiver must each be
supplied with a dedicated satellite signal from the antenna
system/Sat outlet (see the "Connection example" above).
The receiver tuner inputs are factory preset in the
installation menu to work with two separate Sat antenna
connections.

Remove the cover on the rear of the remote control.
Insert the two batteries supplied into the remote control.
Ensure correct polarity of the batteries; the + and –
markings as indicated inside the battery compartment.
Slide the cover back on to the remote control until it locks
in place.
First switch your TV set on and select the AV/HDMI input
you have used to connect the UFS 922 to your TV set.
Start up the UFS 922 by switching on the power switch
on the rear of the unit.
Now perform the fi rst installation of the UFS 922. If you have
any questions or encounter problems,
please contact your
specialist dealer.
The principal basic settings for the UFS 922 are performed
during the fi rst installation. In each case the settings
are made using the arrow buttons and numeric buttons
®
on the remote control. To progress to the next step
of the fi rst installation, press the PIP (green) button;
to go back to the previous step, press the FAV (red) button.
Always pay attention to the bar at the
bottom of the on-screen display. This
provides information on what to do next.

When making these settings, refer to the operating/user
instructions for your TV set.

You can perform these settings yourself only if you know the
settings/confi guration of your satellite reception system. In
many cases the satellite reception system is a DiSEqC™1.0
system. This type of system is set as the default.
In this case use the PIP (green) button to confi rm the
steps marked with

in the table. Otherwise, or if you wish
to implement settings that vary from the default, ask your
specialist dealer and/or call for assistance from a specialist
electrician to perform the work in accordance with the
operating instructions.
Use the arrow buttons and the OK button to select the desired

satellite (in Germany this is generally ASTRA 19.2° East).
The press the PIP (green) button repeatedly until the channel
search screen is displayed.
It is not absolutely necessary to perform a channel search,

since the receiver is pre-loaded with a default channel list.
