Emptying the Waste Bin
The fill level of the waste bin is monitored by a sensor. If the fill level in the waste bin is high, the
"Bin full" status LED lights up red. The cutting mechanism of the shredder stops and you must
empty the waste bin. The fill level of the waste bin can be checked through the viewing window.

Switch the device off by sliding the On/Off sliding switch to the "Off" position.

Pull the waste bin out of the device.

Empty the waste bin.

Slide the waste bin in the device.
Î The waste bin latches audibly in place.
Î You have emptied the waste bin.
Clearing Residual Material
If the shredder no longer shreds material as you expect, remove any residual material from the
cutting mechanism.

Slide the On/Off sliding switch to the "Rev" position. The cutting mechanism runs in reverse
and releases any material remaining in the cutting mechanism.

Switch the device off by sliding the On/Off sliding switch to the "Off" position.

Disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
Caution!
Risk of injury through sharp edge of cutting mechanism! Take the utmost care when
removing the material residue.

Remove the residual material carefully from the cutting mechanism using an appropriate
pointed object.
Cleaning the Shredder
Clean the shredder at regular intervals.
Caution!
Risk of injury through flash flame! Such flash flames can occur when using air
sprays. Never use air sprays.

Switch the device off by sliding the On/Off sliding switch to the "Off" position.

Disconnect the power plug from the power socket.

Clean the housing surfaces of the device with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use any aero-
sols, solvents or cleaning agents.
