Reducing tape hiss noise
Frequency response curves can be reversed by setting the SEA
CHARACTER
switch to REVERSE. When recording, raise the
2 kHz and 4kHz
controls a little, in the NORMAL
position,
after making sure the SEA REC switch is set to ON.
By using this formula, playback with reduced tape hiss noise is
possible in the REVERSE
position.
Note:
@
Avoid adjusting the controls by more than 8 kHz, as the
recording may become distorted.
Set the correct recording level by referring to the VU or
Peak indicators on the recording deck.
Loudness control and noise filter capability
The
response
of the SEA-60
ensures that the most suitable
loudness control and noise filter capabilities can be obtained
even if they are not provided by the amplifier.
Producing various sounds
In the
process
of studio
recording
or tape editing, music
unique to a certain orchestra is enhanced by performing tech-
nical operations for acoustic response compensation or sound
effect.

The SEA-60 system has made it possible to produce new and
varied sound: with this SEA system, for example, even inex-
pensive stereo equipment
reproduces music as if it is from a
high-class stereo.
Control method without waste
Generally,
bass
or treble
adjustment
circuits
unnecessarily
emphasize
low
and
high
sounds
sometimes
exceeding
the
audible frequency bands; this tends to increase motor rumble
interference
in the low range and
noise
in the high sound
range.

The SEA-60, however, adjusts only those necessary factors for
sound reproduction within the audible frequency bands. It can
therefore be called a control method without waste.
