6.2.2
Connection of the primary (heating) circuit
The installation must be used in accordance with the regu-
lations in force, standard practice and the recommendations
contained in these instructions.
There must be no complete or partial closing
device between the boiler and the safety valves
(France: DTU - 65.11, § 4.22 - NF P 52-203).
Heating installations must be designed and made
so that it is impossible for water in the heating cir-
cuit and products added into this circuit to be retur-
ned to the drinking water network. A disconnector
must be installed to fill the heating circuit in accor-
dance with the regulations in force.
6.2.3
Hydraulic connection of the secondary circuit (domestic hot water)
The domestic hot water tanks can operate at a maximum ser-
vice pressure of 10 bars.
As a general rule, they operate at 6 bars.
If the distribution pipe is made of copper, a
sleeve made of steel or cast iron or an insula-
ting material shall be inserted between the hot
water outlet from the tank and this pipe in order
to prevent corrosion phenomena at the connec-
tor.
● Before connecting the domestic hot water circuit, it is essen-
tial that the pipes should be rinsed to avoid introducing
metallic or other particles that could damage any of the
devices (safety valve, load pump, non return valves, etc.).
In accordance with safety regulations, it is man-
datory to fit a sealed safety valve on the calo-
rifier's domestic cold water inlet. This valve is
usually calibrated to 7 bar. Our calorifier's tech-
nical characteristics allow it to run, if neces-
sary, with a valve calibrated to 10 bar. We
recommend the use of hydraulic membrane
safety unit sets carrying the NF mark.
● Before making the primary (heating) and secondary (domes-
tic) circuit hydraulic connections, it is essential to rinse out
the water circuits to prevent the introduction of any dirt par-
ticles which could damage some of the mechanisms (safe-
ty valve, load pump, dampers, etc.)
● Make sure that the primary and secondary circuits are
hydraulically isolated by stop valves to facilitate servicing
operations on the calorifier.
They enable the calorifier and its mechanisms to be servi-
ced without having to empty the entire installation. They
are also used to isolate the calorifier during pressure tight-
ness checks on the installation if the test pressure is higher
than the pressure which is acceptable to the calorifier.
● The connection between the safety valve and the calorifier
must not include cut-off mechanisms. Neither should the
safety valve drainage pipe be blocked. If the supply pres-
sure is more than 5,5 bar of the safety valve setting, a pres-
sure reducer must be installed upstream of the calorifier.
It is recommended to install the pressure reducer downs-
tream of the water meter so as to have the same pressu-
re in all the pipes.
● Provide a water outlet in the boiler room and a "siphon-fun-
nel" to drain the safety valve.
● The cold water supply shall be connected as shown in the
previous diagram. Components shall comply with the stan-
dards and regulations in force in the country concerned. A
flue damper is installed on the cold water supply.
● Put the plugs onto the connections which are not used and the

Comments:
- The diameter of the safety valve and its connection to the calo-
rifier shall be at least as large as the cold water supply tube in
the calorifier domestic hot water circuit (minimum 1-1/2").
- A drain shall be provided for the calorifier.
- It is recommanded to install a thermostatic mixing tap on
the domestic hot water outlet.
