Safety instructions
The instrument may not be operated in rooms with explosion
hazards. Furthermore, it has to be placed upon a fire-proof and/or
not burnable surface. Attention: Magnetism! Effects of the
magnetic field have to be taken into account (e.g. data carriers,
cardiac, cardiac pacemakers...).
When using PTFE-coated magnetic bars, the following has to be
noted:
Elementary metals do attack it; halogen hydrocarbons have a
reversibly swelling effect.

Plastic not to be contacted with concentrated acid.
Correct use
The IKA Mini MR standard is a magnetic stirrer sutable for mixing
thinly fluid media up to 800 ml by using a magnetic bar up to a
lenght of 30 mm. The speed can be adjusted between o and 1500
1/min.
Unpacking
Please unpack the machine carefully and inspect for damage. It is
important that any transit damage should be noted at the time of
unpacking. In certain circumstances it may be necessary to in -
vestigate immediately (post, rail or freight forwarder).

Commissioning
Plug the instrument into a socket with a voltage of 100 ... 240 V
±10% and a frequency of 50/60Hz. Put a magnetic bar into a ves-
sel permeable for magnetic field lines, and fill the vessel with the
medium to be processed. Please make sure that the rotary knob
for speed adjustment is at the left-hand stop, and then put the ves-
sel on the instrument. Now you can set the requested speed on
the rotary knob.
Cleaning
Only use water with a detergent additive containing a surfactant
for cleaning, or for heavier soiling isopropylalcohol.
