Making coffee
CAUTION
Risk of scalding!
When the coffee machine is in use, hot
steam will come out of it which will lead
to scalding if it comes into contact with
unprotected skin.
■ Do not open the lid during operation.
■ Do not touch the lid or reach just
above it during operation.
■ Avoid all contact with hot liquid.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to property!
Improper handling of the appliance
can lead to damage.
■ Never pour hot water, milk, coffee
powder, tea or any liquid other than
cold water into the water tank.
■ Do not put coffee powder into the
bean hopper.
■ Do not fill the bean hopper with wa-
ter.
■ Do not use unroasted, caramelised or
sugar-coated coffee beans.
■ After brewing the coffee, remove the
coffee residues from the filter bas-
ket and filter to avoid coffee powder
build-up and clogging of the grinder.

1. Open the filter compartment by pressing
the 'OPEN' button (7) on the right-hand
side of the appliance.
2. Insert a filter into the filter basket (2).
3. Close the filter compartment.
4. Put the desired amount of coffee beans
(not more than 200 g) into the coffee bean
hopper (10) and close the lid. To avoid the
coffee beans becoming too moist, do not
put in more coffee beans than you need.
5. Pour the desired amount of fresh, cold tap
water into the water tank (9).
Never fill with more water than the upper
MAX mark.
6. Close the water tank.
The amount of coffee brewed is less
than the amount of water added, be-
cause some of the water is absorbed
during the brewing process.
7. Make sure that the jug lid pushes up the
drip guard on the filter basket (2).
8. Insert the mains plug (6) into a properly
installed and easily accessible socket.
9. Press the
(19) button to set the de-
sired number of cups. If you do not set the
number, 12 cups are prepared by default.
The cup setting only affects the
amount of coffee ground, not the
amount of water.
