Cassette deck operation

Preas the EJECT button on the TAPE ! or ll deck to
open the cassette compertment door.
2 Loed e caasette tapa (exposed tepe elde down).
3 Puch the caasetto oampertment door to olcee it.
Note:
® Do not press the EJECT button when the cassette deck is in
any mode other than the stop mode.
Cassette tape playback
Load o cassette tape in the TAPE ! or !l deck cassette
compartment.
Rofer to "Loading a cassette tape" for details.
as Set the DOLBY NR switoh according to how the tape
recorded:
Tapes recorded with DOLBY B NR: Set to B
Tapes recorded with DOLBY C NR: Set to C
Tapes recorded without DOLBY NR: Set to OFF
Press
the TAPE ! or !! button to set the cassetto
deck
for TAPE | or Il operation.
The selected button will light.
4 Preas the > or < button to start playback.
5 Adjust the pleyback volume with the VOLUME control.
6 Preas the Mi hutton to etop pleybaok.
To fest forwerd the tape:
i Preas the PP button.
To rewind the tape:
@ Preas the << button.
Note:
@ Pressing the PP or <4 button during playback will engage
the IPSS mode.
@ Pressing the <4 button will start playback of the reverse side
of the cassette tape.
@ Playback direction is indicated by the [> and < indicators.
To chenge the tape operation
mode
To change the tape operation mode from the TAPE | deck
to the TAPE Ii deck or vice versa, press the TAPE | or II but-
ton. The selected button will light.
Note:
@ Pressing the TAPE | or Il button to change tape oper-
ation is not necessary when the remote control is being
used. Simply press the tape operation buttons of the
deck that you want to use.
Playback features
Continuoua playback
Use this function to start playback of a cassette tape loaded in
the TAPE | deck and continue with a cassette tape loaded in the
TAPE Il deck.
1 Load ecassette tapain each of the TAPE | andil dacks.
Press the TAPE | button to set the oassette dack for
TAPE i operetion.
MX-970 model:
Set the REC/PB MODE switch to the CONT position.
3 Preas the > button to start playback.
After playback of both sides of the TAPE | cassette tape has
finished, playback of the TAPE II cassette tape will begin.
Both sides will be played back.
Continuous playback will continue for 5 times and then be
cancelled. Press the I button if you want to stop continu-
ous playback before this.
Note:
@ MX-970 modol: when the REC/PB MODE switch is set to
CONT and only one cassette tape is loaded, the A and B
sides of the cassette tape will be continuously played back.

Use this function to search for and begin playback from any se-
lection on a cassette tape. Up to 30 selections, in either direc-.
tion from the current point of playback can be searched for.
@ Ouring pleyback prsse the >> or << button the numbar
of selectione ahead or before the current peint of pley-
back thet you wieh to begin playback from.
The tape will be wound to the chosen selection and playback
will begin.
The [> indicator will flash while the selection is being sear-
ched for. Once found, playback of the chosen selection will
begin automatically.
