7. OpERATION
Operation only by trained personal.
Persons should keep off the working area.
To extend the spindle support device
z Park the trailer vehicle on firm, even ground and take care against
coasting (see the operating manual for the trailer vehicle).
z Check the support device for signs of damage, repair it before use if
necessary.
z Before activating the spindle support device swing the crank handle
out of its holder and engage it on the crankshaft.
The crank radius determines the ratio:
Low gear = large radius
High gear = small radius
Switch from high gear to low gear before the foot reaches the
ground. watch for the lifting limit (the force required to turn the
crank handle rises).
How to change the crank radius
z Loosen wing nut
z Adjust crank to desired length
z Tighten wing nut
z At the end of the turning movement slowly relieve the strain on
the crank handle. There is a danger that the crank handle will jump
backwards.
Always place the crank handle in the holder provided for it.
To retract the spindle support device
z Follow the above instructions in reverse.
z After coupling the trailer, fully retract the spindle support device.
Always place the crank handle in the holder provided for it.
To load the supported trailer vehicle
If the appropriate safety regulations are observed, the supported trai-
ler vehicle may be loaded using a crane.
Do not exceed the centre of gravity, otherwise the trailer
vehicle will tip over.
Drop lift
Jacks can also be extended by pulling the locking pin and removing
the drop tube.
The locking mechanism is only permitted to be opened when
the jack is not loaded. If the distance to be bridged is greater
than the length of the drop tube, it may fall out of the jack. The
drop tube must not be drawn out further than the last hole
(max. drop lift). The jack must be secured with the locking pin
before it is loaded.
